If I hadn’t read that there was a glitch in the iPhone clock on January 1st I likely would have assumed I’d forgotten to turn on my alarm on Saturday. I wasn’t the only one who had a problem. I was interviewed about my experience for a story in the Monday New York Times.

The question used to be a simple one: real or plastic. But not no longer. This holiday season people are more concerned with size of their carbon footprint than whether Santa Claus has the correct shoe size on file, a development that has made Christmas tree shopping a highly political affair. It has also led to the inevitable question, how green is your wintergreen?
Somehow we ended up with some really fancy, thick Christmas wrapping paper. It’s impossible to work with. Give me the cheap stuff any day.
