Time-Lapse Video of Winter Solstice Eclipse

I read about it all day. And talked about it too. But when 2:40 am rolled around, I couldn’t muster the energy to get out of bed and see last night’s lunar eclipse. Luckily, the world is composed of much more dedicated star gazers than myself. And ones with really nice cameras, to boot. I found a great time-lapsed video of the eclipse on YouTube, shot from a backyard in New York. The man who shot it, Kareem Brown, says he took 4.5 hours of footage and shortened it to just under a minute and a half. And he did an amazing job. The changes the moon undertakes are so dramatic, I had to remind myself that what I was watching was real. Check it out:
