  1. Red Sea: Moses May Have Had Help From Wind

Moses may have actually parted the Red Sea. Using a computer program, scientists in Colorado were able to recreate the Exodus story. But instead of just using his hands, he would’ve had to have some serious help from the wind.

  2. One Last Summer BBQ

Fall has arrived, but in New York we’ve got some (almost) summer-like temperatures. Which is why a post on rebelmom.com caught my eye. It’s a fun list of tunes for one last summer BBQ. The list, from chef Brian Parks, ranges from Nelly to The Drifters to Beck.

For two weeks, the narrative on CBS, ESPN2 and Tennis Channel has been about Rafael Nadal in pursuit of the only major tennis title he hasn’t won. It’s stunning that they didn’t see fit to let the winning moment play to its conclusion. Instead ESPN rudely cut away to the opening seconds of a barely-significant NFL game.

  9. The Anatomy of a Twinkie

We’ve all heard the story about the Twinkie that fell behind the refrigerator and was found, in tact, 40 years later. For decades, the frightening durability of the iconic snack cake has been fodder for wonder and ridicule.  But what exactly makes a Twinkie, a Twinkie? Curious, photographer Dwight Eschliman set out to document the 37 ingredients listed on the Twinkie’s package. Along the way he discovered that many of its elements could only be found in a chemical supply store.
