American Airlines “Just Fine, Thank You” After Expedia Spat

American Airlines is “doing very well, thank you” says the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. That’s despite an announcement on Saturday by Expedia, who said it would stop offering flights by the Texas-based carrier immediately. The move came in the wake of American’s fracas with Orbitz and after the airline claimed its listings were being pushed to the bottom of Expedia’s results page. Until January 1, that is, when they were yanked altogether.
Reps claim the disagreements have not hurt ticket sales, claiming that sales were stronger at the end of this year than 2009. American’s travel site fight is based around one central argument: the airline thinks its paying too much in fees and wants to force travel sites to use a booking software it created.
