Looking for something to do with holiday guests? The Dia: Beacon, it turns out, is a great way to spend an afternoon. I think somewhere in the back of my head I knew this, but it took an accident in the midst of travel planning for me to actually get there and walk around.

I attended the annual Financial Follies on Friday night in Manhattan. The gathering of financial writers pokes fun at the world of business, taking aim this year with parody performances based on hits from Lady Gaga (Bad Finance) and Journey (Don’t Stop Deceiving.)

Take it from a guy whose hair hasn’t changed since 1991—hairspray will always prevail over humidity.  Moving on, one should note that stubble tears paper baby wipes when they are used as a makeup remover. Try the cloth-like Costco wipes instead. Most makeup tutorials artfully avoid the word “stubble.” But I had to be honest when the Gothamist called me for some beauty tips.
