Knowing what we know now about the death of Osama bin Laden, the result of an attack ordered several days ago, is there anything to be read into President Obama’s reaction when Seth Meyers brought up bin Laden’s name at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner?

In almost every industry there are tools that are vital to getting the job done. In shoe stores, it’s the Brannock Device. In barbershops, it’s the Barbicide stuff. And in TV newsrooms, it’s the TelePrompTer.

It was only a matter of time before “Law and Order” champed on Charlie Sheen’s over-publicized bit. And as it turns out, I was there to see it happen. Last month, I taped a quick appearance on “Law and Order: Criminal Intent and was in the room as Jay Mohr taped his Charlie Sheen-like rant to the TV interviewer.

How’s this for an ethics test: What would you do if, on a trip to the supermarket, you finished your shopping and then discovered that there were no employees around to check you out—or prevent you from stealing everything in your cart. That’s exactly what happened last Friday—Good Friday—when a computer glitch forced the doors of a New Zealand supermarket open an hour before employees showed up for work.

People love cat videos. Dogs behaving badly—or adorably—make for an instant YouTube hit. But a goose video? Really? At first, this might seem boring.  But it’s strangely fascinating. I was catching up on news from Canada when I stumbled upon details about the 2011 edition of the Edmonton Journal’s “Goosecam.”  Apparently, the paper developed quite an online following with this idea last year, so this spring the goose has returned.
