Too Cold for the North Pole

It is too cold, even for the North Pole. You’d think cold weather would be great for a festival based around ice. But the Fairbanks Daily News Miner says the Alaskan city’s annual ice sculpture event has been plagued by frozen equipment and brittle ice, results of 30- to 40-below-zero degree weather. Several sculptors have had to bring their ice creations inside to warm them up enough to be finished, say event organizers.
