The Washington Post reports on a big study this morning tying wealth and longevity together. The authors studied two adjacent counties in Florida and found that the more prosperous of the two had higher life expectancies—four years for women, six for men—than their less affluent neighbors. Researchers say their findings illustrate a grim truth: even as life expectancy increases around the country, it’s a change seen mostly by those at the top of the income ladder.
