Sex Offender Dressed as Cookie Monster Arrested

Some might call him a monster, but not of the cookie variety. Iowa police say they arrested a registered sex offended dressed up as Cookie Monster and handing out fliers to children at a county fair over the weekend. The Quad City Times says an officer, who had previously worked on a local sex offender task force, recognized the 25-year-old man’s voice behind his mask. Said the officer of his discovery: “He’s not allowed to sell corn dogs, let alone be in a Cookie Monster outfit.” The man worked for an independent company, which wasn’t required to supply background checks of its employees working at the fair.
