There is a shocking photo on the front page of the Springfield News-Leader. It’s an aerial shot of the destruction in Joplin, Missouri three days after a massive tornado wrecked havoc on the town. So far the death toll is estimated to be 122; 750 people reported injuries caused by the twister, which damaged 8000 structures. Meteorologists have classified the tornado as an E-5 storm and say it’s the deadliest one to strike in 60 years. The Joplin fire chief described the scene as “unreal,” saying, “I grew up in this town, and it’s hard to tell where I’m at.”
