I was on stage in Calgary last weekend as an audience participant in the local production of the “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” (Spell “caterjunes.”) And, to my surprise, my high school journalism teacher happened to be in the audience.

The New York Post came out to my apartment for lunch yesterday. They wanted to see what I eat for a feature on the lunchtime habits of “New York’s power players.” They interviewed Tommy Hilfiger and David Letterman - they even found out what Sen. Schumer likes on his “Schumwich.”

Some people like beer. Some like wine. My favorite drink is the Slurpee. Two great things have happened this week: a 7-11 opened within walking distance of my apartment, and an article in the New York Times introduced me to research that the “slushie” has a potential health benefit.
