After yesterday’s news cycle we all know not to open any emails with attachments from Carlos Danger. While Anthony Weiner has come up with one of the coolest fake names out there, it’s certainly not the only one. Slate took Weiner’s latest scandal as an opportunity to create a Carlos Danger Name Generator, so you too can come up with a fantastic online pseudonym. So if you hear me sign off as Manolo Badass, you’ll know where I got it.

New York’s PBS station is fighting fire with fire. They’ve produced a spoof of ridiculous reality TV—the tannest family in America, the Tanners—as a way to get people to donate to their quality programming. It’s pretty effective…and hilarious.

In rival Tweets, (Canadian) Seth Rogen and (American) Sarah Silverman claimed to have found the best (worst?) Canada tribute video ever. Check them out.

My thanks to the New York Post’s Micki Siegel for spending some time with me and my family in Williamsburg.  Six years ago she did one of her At Home stories on our apartment on the Upper West Side and we just re-united for the Brooklyn sequel.

I guess it’s my obligation to report the bad news along with the good news.  My primetime show on CNBC has been pulled from the schedule after two weeks of dismal ratings.  The network says it will try to find a better way to promote Crowd Rules before putting any more episodes on TV.

Pat and his staff are taking a few extra days off—okay a week—to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend. There will be no Pat’s Picks Monday, May 27th through Monday, June 3rd. We’ll resume our regular schedule on Tuesday, June 4th. Have a great week and we’ll see you then!
