Gothamist has a nice recap of my second stint in the co-anchor chair next to Kelly. They say I was noticeably better than before. It’s true I felt more comfortable than the first time around—and I told the Gothamist reporter it was much easier to fall asleep the night before. They hunted down Kelly after the show to see what she thought of me, and she echoed the praise, calling me “natural and funny.” Cross your fingers that my hot streak continues this morning.

Today’s Starbucks Alter Ego comes from Farrah. She writes: “My name is Farrah, and so I’ve had some weird ones, but this one from today is by far my favorite: Fan’a. Why the apostrophe??”

A couple of weeks ago writer Michael Schulman spent the entire morning with me at NY1. The result of his work is in the New York Times today. He says watching NY1 in the morning is a sign that you’re a real New Yorker. I don’t think we cover quite as many mayoral ribbon cuttings the article suggests, but it’s a nice piece.

I might be the last one to see this but it’s so funny I’m going to swallow my pride and post it anyways. No, it’s not “Double Rainbow”...it’s just a frog sitting on a bench, like a human. He says it’s hard to miss the “courtship aspect” of the search, made all the more visible by a “tongue-in-cheek ‘Bachelor’ motif.” Ratings are up 10 percent over last year, but the show’s producers say they won’t allow it to go on forever.

Dr. Dre had a surprising guest when he took the stage at Coachella music festival in California this weekend: Tupac. Yes, the rapper, who died 15 years ago, “performed” next to Snoop Dogg and Dre. So how’d they do that? They used a hologram, made by the same company that created a fake Brad Pitt for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” It was such a success now there’s talk of virtual Tupac going on tour.

Trivia fans and journalism buffs alike will get a kick out of this very impressive list I just came across. Jeremy Porter, who writes for the blog Journalistics, decided he wanted to do a post about journalism movies. And boy did he.
