I’m very excited by the fact that I have a New Yorker caricature cartoon drawn in my likeness. It’s in the May 21st issue, in an article about my recurring role as…myself in several films, including the new “Avengers.”

How many megapixels does your camera have? Electro-L, a Russian weather satellite, was able to snap a very impressive photo of the Earth in one single shot. This massive 121 megapixel image is one of the rare instances we get to see an original picture of our planet. Most of the views we see are stitched together from several pictures.VIDEO

Upon learning of the death of Vidal Sassoon I’ve had this jingle in my head all morning. It’s a classic.

Reading about celebrated children’s author Maurice Sendak in virtually every paper this morning reminded me of this interview he did with Stephen Colbert back in January. Colbert starts out by saying “Anyone who knows me know that I don’t like children, or books, or children’s books…” Then Sendak comes on…and basically agrees. WATCH THE VIDEO

I’m starting to get nervous. The “Celebrity Skate 2012” challenge is just over a week away and I’ve got a lot of work to do.  Apparently, memorizing a figure skating routine is not something I’m particularly adept at.

Tom Brokaw is not a fan of the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. He went on a mini-tirade yesterday on “Meet the Press” lambasting the annual event as evidence that the media has given up on serious political coverage and lost touch with the American public. Brokaw does ‘fess up to being a charter member of the White House Correspondents Association, but says even though he’d “like to meet Charlize Theron,” things have gotten a little out of hand. VIDEO

Traffic consultant Sam Schwartz has been on a campaign for a few years to try to get New York City to adopt a more sensible plan for traffic tolls. In a guest column in the New York Daily News, he explains the problem in a way anybody can understand.
