The company responsible for making the Army’s Black Hawk helicopters unveiled its latest project in Florida yesterday. Called the Raider, the helicopter is the world’s fastest and can reach speeds of up to 250 knots. The Sun Sentinel says at yesterday’s demo, the Raider only got up to 200 knots but was impressively quiet. The model, which will be ready for production in about four years, is said to reach its world-record speeds without needing a ton of extra gas.
The Hartford Courant also put the Raider on its front page. The company, Sikorsky, is based in Connecticut.
