Wiretapping “Goes Dark” as People Abandon Land Lines

It’s hard to spy on people these days. The New York Times says in an age when very few people use land lines to communicate, law enforcement officials say their ability to wiretap is “going dark.” So they’re asking Congress to allow all devices that send or receive communications to be tapped. That includes everything from the encrypted emails used by BlackBerry to Skype and Facebook accounts.
