Wild Animals Loose in Ohio

When you think of a safari, Ohio isn’t the first locale that comes to mind. But the Columbus Dispatch says police, armed with assault rifles, are working round the clock to shoot dozens of lions, tigers and bears (and also cheetahs, wolves, giraffes and camels) that escaped from a farm after the owner was found dead on the property. 

Police have already shot dozens of escapees but at a press conference last night they urged residents to stay indoors and advised several local schools to close today, to avoid a buffet of kids waiting for the bus. Police are refusing to say how the owner of the property died, though they did say he was released from feeral prison just three weeks ago, after serving a one-year sentence for “possession of a machine gun and possession of short firearms without serial numbers.”
