A dog hankering for a breakfast of Canada goose found himself on thin ice yesterday, says the Chicago Tribune. The dog kept his eye on the geese and ignored rescue workers who were gingerly making their way across 2-inch-thick ice on Lake Michigan to snag him. After three hours in sub-zero temperatures, they were finally able to get close enough to shoot the dog with a tranquilizer gun and shepherd him to safety.
