US Offensive in Afghanistan Largest in a Decade

The move on the Taliban-controlled town of Marjah by 15,000 US and Afghan troops was the largest offensive there in almost a decade, reports the New York Daily News. The paper says “the surge marked NATO’s most ambitious effort yet to break the militants’ grip over their southern heartland.”
