Two Enormous Fish, One Tiny Boat

A Bay Area man managed the “one of the Pacific Coast’s most amazing days of fishing of the year last week” and he did it all from inside a tiny wooden boat called a panga.  The San Francisco Chronicle says Mike Mahoney managed to catch an enormous bluefin tuna, weighing in at 249 after throwing in a line baiting with sardines. About an hour later, he landed another one—a 235-pounder. Mahoney says it was a feat that took several hours and left his back and arms sore. But it was worth it: “Good thing I love to eat tuna,” he said.
