Today’s Bulls More Like ‘Chunky Racehorses’

Cowboys, it seems, have lost their advantage. The Wall Street Journal says over the last decade or so bull-riding has become dominated by…bulls. It used to be that professional bull riders could hang on for the 8-second minimum 85 percent of the time. Now, the most elite rider can only manage to do so about 39 percent of the time. The shift has to do with how bulls are treated, more like “chunky racehorses” than animals that spend most of their time grazing in the field.
