“It’s not the Obama car” declares the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle this morning. Usually, a presidential stamp of approval is a good thing. But not in the electric car game. GM and Tesla are trying to get out from under a smear campaign Republicans have launched against the electric car, reminding the public that what they’re making are cars, not “political issues.”
