Study: Technology Makes You Less Productive

Technology is making you less productive. That’s the gist of a new study that surveyed a group of white-collar workers. It found that more than half of the country’s workforce wastes at least an hour a day on interruptions, 60 percent of which come from electronic devices says USA Today. Almost two-thirds of those who took the survey say they regular tune out in meetings to check their email or surf the Internet. And the Internet isn’t the only culprit: 2.5 hours a week are wasted, on average, looking for documents “in poorly organized electronic files.”
