Study: Left Turns Risky for Older Drivers

The Sun Sentinel says left turns are tricky for any driver but for the elderly, they pose a serious risk. Data shows that 21 percent of older drivers who have been in a serious crash were attempting a left-hand turn. For younger drivers, the rate is about 13 percent. Safety experts say there is a detour to consider: “Do what UPS drivers are taught to do — make a right, make a right, make a right turn.”
