Slap Watches the New Silly Bandz?

In case you haven’t heard—Silly Bandz are so last year. The New York Post says retailers are betting that something called Slap Watches take their place as the country’s most coveted tween accessory. A spin-off of the 1990s slap bracelet fad, the plastic bracelets did well over the Christmas shopping season. For his part, the inventor of Silly Bandz says he’s not quite ready to let go of his plastic juggernaut. As he told the Post, ““People are forgetting that Silly Bandz are still new in places like Kazakhstan, Spain and Finland—you can’t get them in North Africa.”
