Playboy TV Wants More Women (To Watch)

The Playboy channel is trying to bring in more female viewers. Sort of. According to the Wall Street Journal, the move is predicated on something gleaned from market research: men say “they’d have more leeway at home to subscribe if Playboy TV touted its female-friendliness.” Executives think their line-up of “couple’s programming” will put them in competition with cable powerhouses like Showtime and HBO. One of the shows in development is another iteration on the “Real Housewives” theme but this time with cameras strategically placed in the bedroom.
