There’s a great photo on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle this morning. That’s a 22-foot gingerbread house, built in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel. Because it’s completely edible, pastry chefs must double as carpenters and repair the damage done by hungry guests every day. In total there are 7500 gingerbread bricks, 1500 pounds of icing, and 650 pounds of candy.
