What will New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg do after his three terms are up in 2013? Will he buy the Financial Times, the Economist and the New York Times and run them as a “quasi public interest” media empire? USA Today columnist Michael Wolff says the possibility, which has only been hinted at, would “replace the public stature, the wide influence and the unique independence he’s had running the city.”
