Slater, Missouri, a town of 2000, has come into the international spotlight after a video uploaded to Facebook, which showed a beagle puppy being abused by its owners, caused worldwide outrage. The Kansas City Star says the local police department has been deluged with phone calls from around the world seeking justice for eight-week-old Daisy. Unfortunately for Daisy—and the Slater police department (who say the calls they’re receiving have become increasingly hostile)—the town’s DA declined to prosecute the teen whom the video shows allegedly slapping around the pup, citing a lack of evidence.
Here’s the video in question. You may have to log-in to Facebook for the link to work properly.
