He’s still the “ka-ching of Pop” says the New York Daily News. As the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death approaches, the paper looks at how much money his estate has pulled in over the last year. And it’s alot. About $756 million, to be exact. And that doesn’t include the money generated by all of his work and image licensing. According to the Daily News, what it does include are the following: CD sales; The movie “This Is It”; The subsequent appearance of “This Is It” on DVD and Blue-ray; A new Sony deal that funnels money to the estate for years’ worth of future releases and projects; Key parts of his publishing.
The New York Post has a calendar of events remembering Jackson as the anniversary of his death approaches.
