The notion that air travellers are better off if everyone jams all their crap into a carry-on bag (instead of checking luggage) remains as ridiculous as it was when the airlines first started with these baggage fees. And as those fees rise, so do purchases of new luggage designed to take maximum advantage of the ever-changing rules, reports the Los Angeles Times.
