Katy Perry’s Breasts Cause Sesame Street Scandal

Are Katy Perry’s breasts too hot for Sesame Street? Some parents seem to think so says the Kansas City Star. An episode of Perry singing a duet with Elmo was set to air on New Years Eve but plans were quashed after parents reacted to Perry’s outfit, a “Big Bird-yellow dress with a bustier.”

I think she looks fine, definitely nothing sexed up about her performance. And the kid-friendly version of Hot N Cold works really well. But comments on YouTube ranged from the pretty innocuous, (“umm she looks great, but I’m not sure my 2 year old needs to have her face rubbed into her cleavage in such a way”) to the harsh (she looks like a w***e).

As I was putting this story up, Sesame Street took down their official video, along with all the comments. The New York Post makes a good point about the removal, reminding us that Disney Princesses wear a lot less—“hello, Ariel just wore seashell pasties.”
