Italian Mayor Bans Miniskirts

I saw a tiny item in the New York Daily News this morning about the mayor of a small Italian seaside town banning miniskirts. According to the Guardian, he hopes the proposal will “restore urban decorum and facilitate better civil coexistence”. The law will enable police to check women’s hemlines to see if their underwear are visible. Hmm. Sounds like there might be an ulterior motive here…
The mayor has offered up other bans, including banning soccer in the park and one forbidding sunbathing. Sounds like fun is next on his list.
