They’re not bees—they’re zom-bees. The San Jose Mercury News says scientists have discovered a possible reason why honeybee populations are crashing around the world: a parasite that turns them into zombies. According to San Francisco State researchers infected bees go insane, and abandon their hives “in a suicidal rush toward bright lights.” As one researcher puts it: “It’s the flight of the living dead.”
