How to Take a Good Self Portrait

The Wall Street Journal has some good advice on how to take a decent self-portrait. As with most photos lighting is important. Try to find some natural light or, in a pinch, “a soft but potent artificial source.” To appear slender, try cocking your hip towards the hand you’re holding the camera with while simultaneously jutting the other shoulder forward.
