Herd of Starving Bison Impounded in South Dakota

Usually when one reads about authorities impounding things due to winter weather, it’s cars. Not in South Dakota. The Bismark Tribune says a herd of “apparently starving” bison has been impounded by authorities in their neighboring state. The animals, which are owned by a Florida real estate mogul, have been taken into county custody after several were found dead. The state says it would physically remove the animals from the property but can’t because of heavy snow and the sheer volume. Instead it is providing the 4000 to 6000 bison with food and water.
