Helmet Use by Skiers Rises Sharply

Really, I didn’t need a New York Times article to tell me this because I’ve seen it happening on my own ski trips. Helmet use on ski slopes in the US and Canada is up dramatically. (Although I noted on a Spring 2009 trip to France that Europe is way behind on this trend. Why, I’m not sure, since on all but the warmest day I find the helmet more comfortable than the hats I used to wear.)

Vail Resorts made helmets mandatory for its employees this year.
