Great White Sharks ‘Stalking’ Florida

Planning a Florida vacation? You might want to stay close to the shore. The Sun Sentinel says great white sharks are stalking the state. Since January there have been five sitings off the coast, the latest in Fort Lauderdale. Experts say Florida waters are cooler than usual this year, which is attracting the enormous predators. But that doesn’t mean your changes of a “Jaws” moment have increased—as one scientist puts it: “If sharks wanted to eat people, you’d never be able to go in the ocean.”
