Goldman Bans Swear Words in Emails

As the Wall Street Journal put it, “there will never be another s? deal at Goldman Sachs.” Since their embarrassment on the Senate floor last April, the company has decided to ban their 34,000 employees from swearing when writing an email. Even words disguised with asterisks will be screened out using software. Lots of companies screen the emails of their employees for profanity, but the new rule (delivered verbally, of course) is a sea change for the notoriously dirty-mouthed Wall Streeters.
