GM Responds to Chevy Name Change with Poorly-Made Video

GM says it’s okay if you still want to call their cars Chevys, but they’re going to stick with Chevrolet for their official communications. The Detroit Free-Press says after a company memo about the mandated name change was made public yesterday, GM felt compelled to assure people it wasn’t just a stunt for publicity - they genuinely thought customers were confused by the two names. Company officials say the decision was partly based on the fact that Chevy is a US-centric nickname, and GM does business all over the world.
