Every year, they take the cake. There’s a fun story in the Washington Post about a family that spends the holidays meticulously making an architecturally accurate gingerbread house. Their repertoire includes the Taj Mahal, Notre Dame, and the Sydney Opera House. But writer Petula Dvorak says the annual event is about more than just sugar and blueprints - the tradition has created “bonds [the] that parenting books keep harping about.”
