Flip-Flopper in Chief

The New York Post asks a provocative question on its front page this morning: “Should the leader of the free world dress like this—even on vacation?” I say yes…because he’s on vacation. Apparently, President Obama’s biggest sartorial sin was his choice to wear flip-flops, with no regard for the puns that may follow. The Post says it’s the first time in history a president has been photographed in public “wearing nothing more than a flimsy strip of rubber on his feet.”

They put together a good slideshow of former presidents in their beach attire. I can’t imagine anyone will argue seeing Obama’s toes are as offensive as the shirt-tucked-into-red-shorts ensemble Bill Clinton opted for:
