The tech world’s latest development is literally in the eye of the beholder says San Jose Mercury News columnist Troy Wolverton. Called eye tracking, the technology uses “low levels of invisible infrared light” beamed at a users’ eyes to do everything from switch between applications to zoom in on a photo. A Swedish company, Tobii Technology, just rolled out a prototype laptop equipped with eye tracking capabilities. Wolverton says he was impressed with its precision, which he describes as much quicker and easier than using a mouse or a tracking pad.
