Electric bikes are the new thing. And the New York Times says they are providing a needed jolt to the bicycle industry. An idea “born in China,” the $1500 to $3000 price tag - plus the number of costly parts that could need fixing some day - means manufacturers around the world are happily adding electric models to their inventories.
