Greg Smith’s Goldman Sachs op-ed (in which he discloses clients are internally referred to as Muppets) inspired the New York Times to find out what derogatory nicknames other industries have for their clients. Flight attendants call infrequent travelers “Clampetts,” a nickname inspired by the Beverly Hillbillies. And in politics, a “checkbook” is a wealthy individual who seeks office but whose only qualification is his or her…checkbook.
