Aguilera Fumbles Super Bowl Anthem, Yet Aced It at Age 11

Christina Aguilera killed it…but not in a good way says the LA Times. The pop star embarrassed herself by flubbing the lyrics to the national anthem at last night’s Super Bowl. It was the fourth line that messed her up. Instead of singing: “Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” the pop star used her own lyrics: “Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, what so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.” Almost. Maybe she’s just getting forgetful with age—the Times found a video of Aguilera singing the national anthem flawlessly back when she was 11.
The New York Post gets credit for its “Star Mangled Banner” headline.
