Daniel Day-Lewis sat down with the LA Times to discuss his vocal transformation into Abe Lincoln for Steven Spielberg’s new film in this morning’s paper. (There are some great photos too.) The script emphasizes Lincoln’s gift for language, which made nailing his “reedy, Middle American twang” essential. According to his cast mates, Day-Lewis stayed in character even when cameras weren’t rolling.
