600 Pound Spokesman for Heart Attack Grill Dead at 29

He was a big guy with a big heart says the Arizona Republic. Blair River, the 575-pound, 6-foot-8-inch spokesman for Phoenix’s Heart Attack Grill, has died at the age of 29. As its name implies, the Heart Attack Grill is “an unabashedly unhealthy restaurant” that prided itself of the “glorification of obesity.” But the restaurant’s owner says he would’ve given River the job even if he was slim: “Even if he was skinny we would have given him the job—we would have just put a fat suit on him. He just had personality.” River’s cause of death has yet to be determined.
It’s a little hard to laugh at the Heart Attack Grill‘s tongue-in-cheek website intro, considering. Among the humorous side effects of the “heart attack grill diet,” is a warning that the diet may cause “minor death.”
