2000 Dead Birds Fall From Sky

In one Arkansas town, 2011 started off in a very Hitchcockian fashion. According to the Baxter Bulletin, scientists are trying to figure out what caused two thousand dead birds to drop from the sky on New Years Eve. The two most popular theories of what happened involved fireworks and hail. The red-winged blackbirds started dropping from the sky at about 11pm on New Year’s Eve. It took sanitation workers several days to clean them all up. After investigating a nearby roosting area and finding it free of dead birds, officials have ruled out some sort of avian plague. But the real cause remains a mystery.
