What’s more startling than getting a perplexing Starbucks Alter Ego? Liza writes: “Just as surprising is when they get your often mispronounced name right!!”

Reader Claude didn’t have a photo but as someone cursed with a barista-confusing name he had some advice for others: “My name is ‘Claude’ and after many ‘Clark,’ ‘Todd,’ ‘Bob’ and ‘Clod’ scribbles, I’ve decided it’s just easier to go with a simple name like ‘Mike’ or ‘Steve.’” Claude, haven’t you been reading our blog. If it’s taught you anything, it’s that no name, however simple is safe from barista-ese.
